Filmmaker Malaysian Based in the UK

Dr. Razli Dalan (b. Malaysia) is based in the UK. Over the past few years, he has been trying to balance life, work within the medical profession and learning about cinema and filmmaking. His films are often dark, expressionistic and experimental, with evocative use of colours, soundscapes and imageries. For most of his films, he often tries to utilise a completely visual pathway within their workflow whenever possible, from ideation right down to post-production. This practice results in drawn – either on paper or digitally – graphic panels which are then used as textual-visual ‘scripts’ by the cast and crew for the respective film.
