Dr. Iakovos Panagopoulos (b.Corfu, Greece) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Audio & Visual Arts, at Ionian University. He is directing-writing films and academic research on Media Practice, Film Practice, and Film Studies. His book “The Third Path in Cinema: The Academic Filmmaker Model”, is the first Greek book that deals with film practice research field in academia.

At 2019 he completed his Ph.D. on the work of Theo Angelopoulos at the University of Central Lancashire. He also completed his post-doctoral research at Panteion University of Social and Political Science.
He is also a member of the Scriptwriters Guild of Greece and the Greek Directors Guild.
